The perfect tour for beginners wishing to delve into the world of rock climbing; a sport which instils discipline, direction, and a sense of achievement in all who participate. This tour focuses on top-rope climbing in a safe, fun, and casual environment. Absolutely no prior climbing experience is necessary: this tour is designed for all ages (8+), fitness, and skill levels.

The adventure begins by hiking for 10-15 minutes depending on the site selected. Each climbing area has its own unique flavour, and you will be sure to see something interesting on every hike; whether it be majestic frigate birds soaring over the ocean or beautiful flora that can be found nowhere else in the world. Learn the basic techniques for top rope climbing and safe belaying. You will receive a lesson in climbing theory: including basic knot tying, explanations of climbing gear and its proper use, safety practice and communication signals. The instructor will set up all the ropes and ensure that you are always 100% safe!

The climbing routes will be specifically chosen for the group. Most beginners will be climbing American Grades 5.6-5.7 in a group tour, if you are experienced climber and are looking to climb higher grades, we suggest you book a private tour, which provides a customized package.

You are guaranteed to end the day with a smile on your face!

This has become a very popular thing to do. If you are coming just for the day, it’s possible to start the tour at 2pm to make sure you can take the last flight back to GC.

Morning Tours

Morning tours are available upon request at a different location. The afternoon tours take place on the southside by the Caribbean Sea – very scenic location, the morning tours are done inside a cave which is a very unique experience as well and great for beginners. Please check availability via email before booking if you would like a morning tour.

Beginner Climbing Course

  • Fitness Level: Must be able to walk for at least 30 minutes over uneven and steep terrain. Can you climb a ladder? Then you can rock climb!

The perfect course for beginners wishing to delve into the world of rock climbing; a sport which instills discipline, direction, and a sense in achievement in all who participate. Intro to Rock Climbing is an in-depth introduction to sport rock climbing that teaches all of the basic techniques for top-rope climbing and safe belaying. Before taking to the rock, you will receive a lesson in climbing theory: including basic knot tying, explanations of climbing gear and its proper use, safety practice and communication signals. Then it is time to hit the crag and get climbing!

The course curriculum includes:

  • Introduction to climbing gear, including: harnesses, carabiners, ropes, and belay devices
  • How to tie basic climbing knots
  • Safe belaying techniques with an ATC belay device, for top rope and lead climbing
  • Climbing and crag communication, and safety checks between climber and belayer
  • Introduction to climbing route grades
  • Plenty of top rope climbing practice on beautiful limestone
  • Introduction to types of climbing holds and techniques

Intro to Rock Climbing is suitable for all ages (8+) and fitness levels. No experience is necessary for this course.

Lead Climbing Course
  • Overview: Learn to safely lead climb, rappel, and clean routes
  • Duration: 2 full days (6-8 hours per day)
  • Cost: USD $895
  • Skill Level: Completed Intro to Rock Climbing course or equivalent experience.
  • Fitness Level: Able to comfortably climb 5.6 routes

This course is aimed at persons with climbing experience or who have completed our Intro to Rock Climbing course and want to step into the world of lead climbing. Cayman Brac is the perfect place to learn how to lead climb with a wide range of climbing grades and the safest climbing bolts in the world. We strongly focus on safety using the latest AMGA guidelines, so even if you have some lead climbing experience, we highly recommend taking this course to learn the best practices to keep you safe in the Brac and beyond. This course will change your life by teaching you skills that will allow you to sport climb safely and independently all over the world. This is the beginning of your life-long climbing adventure…

The course curriculum includes:

  • Standardized climbing terminology so you can speak the lingo and understand climbers and guides wherever you are in the world.
  • Review proper lead belay techniques with different belay devices to ensure the climber is kept safe at all times.
  • How to tie the most important climbing knots and hitches including: Prusik, Klemheist, Double Fisherman, Munter Hitch, Clove Hitch, Figure of Eight on a Bight, and Overhand on a Bight
  • Rappelling using a friction hitch for a backup to descend in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Multiple methods of cleaning a route that will allow you to climb any sport route in the world
  • Becoming confident with lead climbing and overcoming the fear of falling with practice and proper technique.
  • Expanding your knowledge of safety procedures and learning to avoid the most common mistakes.
  • Learning how to move efficiently and effectively on the wall by using correct body positions and mastering your footwork
  • Successfully preserving your strength and endurance so you can climb harder and longer.

After completing this course you will have all the skills necessary to be a fully independent lead sport climber. You are guaranteed to leave this course with a massive improvement in skills and a solid boost in confidence!

Climb the Point
  • Overview: A full day course to safely learn to climb at the point (over the water)
  • Duration: 6-8 hours
  • Cost: USD $495
  • Experience Level: Must be a confident lead climber comfortable with exposure
  • Fitness Level: You must be an active rock climber

Course includes:

  • Learning skills in the morning
  • Adventure climbing at the point in the afternoon
  • All climbing/rappelling gear
  • Lunch is not included

The eastern end of Cayman Brac rises 140 ft from the roaring Caribbean Sea and is home to some of the most beautiful climbing in the world, but it takes special skills to climb here.
